Ocean worlds, like several moons of Jupiter and Saturn, are an exciting research frontier, and present an opportunity for Earth, ocean, and space scientists to collaborate. Prof. Brandy Toner and her co-authors describe an ocean systems science approach to exploration. They propose the integration of theoretical modeling, laboratory experiments, and direct observations of Earth’s oceans in hopes of informing future space missions to other ocean worlds. Read the recent publication in Oceanography
