Congratulations to the UMN Soil Judging Team! Last week, the team traveled to Okoboji, Iowa to compete in the Region V Contest, hosted by Iowa State University. The team announced the results on Instagram this weekend.

Scoring is a combination of individual student scores and a team judging event. The gophers had two individuals place in the top 10: Zachary Pederson placed seventh and Kasia Ulanowski placed third. UMN placed first in team judging, for an overall second place finish!

The team was coached by two Land and Atmospheric Science graduate students: Irfan Ainuddin and Megan Andersen

The team has qualified for the National Collegiate Soils Judging Contest, which will take place this spring in Oklahoma.
