SOIL 415 & on Zoom
Join us Wednesdays at 3:30 for our spring departmental seminar series. This week will feature a talk by Jacques Finlay, PhD, a professor in the UMN Dept. of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior.
Title: The Changing Nature of Cities: Ecological and Social Dynamics in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Urban Ecosystem
Jacques Finlay, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior, a Fellow at the Institute on the Environment, and faculty at the Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory. His lab explores the workings of freshwater ecosystems, and how watersheds, organisms and human activities alter their biogeochemistry, ecology and services. Current projects include research on urban landscapes, agricultural management and understanding the role of wetlands and wetland restorations in driving water quality changes. Dr. Finlay a co PI in a NSF funded long term ecological research site in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, leading research focused on the intersection between urbanization, climate and management determining water quality and ecology of freshwater systems.
