We're honored to invite you to the 31st Kuehnast Lecture on October 1st, 2024, hosted by the UMN Department of Soil, Water, and Climate!
We're very excited to host Professor Ed Brook, Distinguished Professor of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science at Oregon State University. Dr. Brook is a world-leading ice core paleoclimatologist and the director of COLDEX, an NSF Science and Technology Center formed in 2021 that is in search of the oldest ice in Antarctica. The main goal of COLDEX is to extend the continuous ice core record to at least 1.5 million years, in order to grow our understanding of how Earth's climate system behaved during warmer periods.
Like last year, the lecture on October 1st will be in person and virtual from 3:00 - 4:30pm in Cargill 105 (map) on the Saint Paul campus of the University of Minnesota, followed by a reception with light refreshments ending at 5:30p
