A Food Company Perspective on Regenerative Agriculture Science and Strategy
Steve will discuss General Mills' approach to meeting the company's goals to advance regenerative agriculture on 1 million acres and reduce the greenhouse gas footprint of their entire value chain by 30% by 2030. He will talk about how this approach touches down through investments and partnerships in Minnesota. He will also discuss some highlights of their research and monitoring work, including 1) soil carbon sampling approaches, 2) broader soil, biodiversity, and economic impacts of regenerative agriculture through on-farm research, and 3) highlight their use of satellite imagery and modelling to track changes in agricultural practices and outcomes at the landscape scale.
