Manny Sabbagh followed his childhood fascination with recycling and composting to PhD candidacy in Land and Atmospheric Science. With support from the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research and the Minnesota Corn Research and Promotion Council, Sabbagh is developing best practices for using cover crops and manure to improve soil quality on land used to grow crops. “We share common interests of improving agronomic output by providing producers the tools and knowledge to do so in a way that is more environmentally friendly,” says Sabbagh.
