As geese pass through during their seasonal migrations, the water quality of lakes they visit along the way may experience an impact. A study led by Dr. Satoshi Ishii found that Campylobacter, bacterial pathogens present in geese feces, are abundant in freshwater lakes visited by geese during the spring and fall. Read the recent publication in Water Research.
