As geese pass through during their seasonal migrations, the water quality of lakes they visit along the way may experience an impact. A study led by Dr. Satoshi Ishii found that Campylobacter, bacterial pathogens present in geese feces, are abundant in freshwater lakes visited by geese during the spring and fall.
